THE CHALLENGE

Every year, UoMR works on building a lighter, faster and stronger car than ever before in order to compete in the Formula SAE competition. In 2016, UoMR launched a Crowdfunding campaign on ZAAR in order to raise funds to support their dream of competing in the next Formula SAE competition. The organisation wanted to create a series of Facebook Posts and Cover Photos that show the progress of the Crowdfunding campaign to its loyal followers and supporters.

THE SOLUTION

After extensive research and brainstorming ideas, the key concept identified was the following; the parallel between raising money and the milestones corresponding to the steps required to build the race car and travel to the competition abroad. Every milestone represents another part of the car (brakes, suspension, etc..) that has been added onto the chassis, with the final milestone representing the car at the end of the race. 

Once the concept was liked by UoMR, I began collecting photos of the parts of the car including the engine, suspensions, steering wheel, brakes, chassis and the outer body and used these as inspiration to create the graphics that would feature throughout the Facebook Posts and Cover Photos. Then, it was all about putting all the pieces together and building the car!
